I say last shot..but this was actually the first shot! I mean that this is the last in the Kaiate Falls series. I’m taking the kids wharf fishing today so no doubt I will take my camera with me and snap a few while there!

This series of 3 small falls is at the end of the first set of steps. A sign further up says  it used to be a shag rookery many years ago but I definitely didn’t spot any shags when we went there! I am not sure what happened to the rookery, but I am assuming  the increased presence of people had something to do with it! We didn’t really see any birds, although you could hear them once you distanced yourself from the sound of the falls.

This weeks theme is “Unusual” which is pretty open to interpretation! What is unusal to one person, culture or country may well be quite ‘usual’ to another! I picked this photo because of the unusual bud on the end of the stem. I am not sure what the tree is but I think this is a flower bud..stuck right on the end like a decoration on a christmas tree! You can check out all the other “unusual” entries here at the Lensday site or even enter your own.

I have also been busy updating my Red Bubble listings and my bubblesite please take a nosey over that way and check it out! Red Bubble is a free resource for Photographers and Graphic Artists so if your not already a member I suggest you check it out and sign up! It really is something great for free. What’s not to like about that?

I took this the other day and have just uploaded it from my camera…so this is a very kast minute post for this theme! You can check out the other entries for “New Life” on the Moody Monday Website. These buds are from an Oak tree anticipating the start of Spring.

Home sweet home…if you’re a Shag. These shags let out a primate like noise as they chatter amongst esch other high above the path that winds its way around the base of Mount Maunganui. You can make out the nests in these trees quite easily. I am itching to get a zoom lens for my camera but good things take time as they say! This spot is so beautiful. Below them you can see the volcanic rock jutting out from the ocean which feeds these birds and the many others that call the Mount home. Copyright Lisa Sarsfield 2009

I am trying to reignite my blog…I’ve had too many gaps and not enough time so I am going to try and set up some posts in advance and then ‘auto’ post them. In theory it will give me time to come and admire yours and keep my own posting regular! Check back here tomorrow for more sea themed shots…this really is a beautiful place!

Mother Nature sure knows how to make a statement!  I took this photo in the  town square were I’ve previously taken photos of the beautiful cherry trees. I really enjoy the seasonal displays of these stunning trees.
