I was out taking photos of these trees and collecting  leaves for my collage work when I came across these lovely pink flowers. I love how the flower has caught the petals of another one within it’s own petals.

This is my entry for the City daily photo monthly theme day. Click here to view thumbnails for all participants there’s some really love places that have been photographed and I am sure you will enjoy them!

Photo taken at Yatton Park looking down towards the Salt marsh track.

A break in the tree line at Yatton Park allows a good view of the Waipuna Salt Marshes and there is a walking track that takes people from Fraser St Reserve to Yatton Park along the marsh line. We did the walk the other day as a family and I was quite suprised to find that the walk from the main road to the marshes is only 15-20 minutes. I did it by myself when I first got my camera and it took nearly an hour because I stopped and photographed every second plant and interesting shaddow I saw! This time however I was being rushed    hurried encouraged  by the rest of the familyto keep walking so I had to keep my camera in its bag for the most part!

Copyright Lisa Sarsfield 2009I did sneak in a couple of view shots and one or two of the marsh grasses. I didn’t do this part of the track when I walked it by myself but now I can see I will have to go back again once the kids are back at school!

I am working on a series of black and white photographs that will include a different compostion of this photo. It looks amazing in black and white! Quite mysterious. I am not sure what to do with my series yet, I may submit them for the end of term exhibtion at ‘The learning Connexion” the art school I am studying towards my diploma with or I may add them to my collection on my creative photography blog “nest eggs” or maybe do both! Either way I will keep you posted:)

Depending on which part of the park you visit you can either enjoy a picnic by the formal plantings or a stroll under the shade of large trees. Some of which are the oldest in the city. Either way its a great place to go with the family and your camera!
